MRI Academy is the hub for young soccer enthusiasts aged 4-10 seeking an action-packed, skill-building summer. Nestled in the DMV area, our camp, led by professional players and certified trainers, offers a blend of fun and training for kids to flourish on the soccer field.

Meet the Team

At MRI Academy, our coaching team is more than just experienced, we’re passionate educators, athletes, and mentors dedicated to developing the whole child. Our team combines professional-level soccer experience, personal training expertise, and a deep understanding of youth development.

Coach Mikias Eticha

Former DC United Academy standout and Division 1 player at the University of Maryland, Mikias is also a dedicated physical education teacher with years of experience coaching youth. As a proud father of three young children he deeply understands the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for kids. His sessions focus on building technical skills, coordination, and confidence, all within a fun, structured atmosphere that promotes growth both on and off the field.

Coach Rediet (Ray) Berihun

Ray brings unmatched energy and passion for fitness to the field. As a certified personal trainer and owner of a local gym (R.A.Y Athletics), he specializes in developing young athletes through strength, agility, and injury-prevention training. His goal is to help kids build healthy habits, boost performance, and develop a lifelong appreciation for fitness all while having fun.

Coach Iyassu Bekele

A licensed coach, and a former professional soccer player, Iyassu brings a world-class perspective to the game. His experience competing at high levels of play has given him deep insight into technical development, performance training, and athlete mindset. Iyassu is dedicated to shaping well-rounded, focused, and resilient players who bring discipline and confidence to every part of their lives.
